The safety cars top speed is so much less than an F1 car it has to be driven flat out to try and keep the F1 cars brakes and tyres at an acceptable temperature for them to operate|||Well the safety car has a top speed of about 186mph, so on the straight it doesn't hold the F1 cars up too much, but its in the corners, thats where it slows the F1 cars down.
Personally, I think its stupid using a merc SL63, it would be better to use an SLR, the SL doesn't corner very well.
