Question about Maryland car safety inspection?

What do they check? Is the standard strict?

The seller is in VA, can his car get maryland safety inspection? I would buy the car if the car passes maryland safety inspection.

Thanks.|||I am sorry, but these folks that say that the Maryland inspection is just "standard stuff" are entirely wrong.

I've lived in both Pennsylvania and Virginia, where they have annual inspections. Those inspections are rather routine and cen be done in 30 minutes or less. In Maryland, it's a totally different story. They do a thorough check of all the parts of the car, including things like steering linkage, inspect the brake master cylinder, look for ANY leaking fluids and so forth. Why so strict? Well, in Maryland, they do not have an annual inspection. They only have the one complete inspection when you buy the car. In the long run it will save you money. The MD inspection costs about $120, and you only pay that once. In Virginia, I am paying about $55 every year. Plus it's a hassle to have to take that time to sit in a long line of cars to get mine inspected.|||it's one of the strictest in the country. they take parts of the car apart.

Beside all the checks done in Va and DC Safety items "wipers, lights, horm, seat best etc"

The also check tire tread, brake thickness, mechanical damage, and the list goes on". Then after the inspection you have to get a separate emission inspection.|||they check the same things they all check, brakes, windshield wipers, all your lights, brake lights, exhaust, make sure your catalytic converter is still attached|||They will check just the routine stuff.....no worries...
