Where should the baby safety car seat be located, middle or sides of the car, when facing front?

The middle is safest by far... but having said that, you can put the baby in any position you wish so long as there is an anchor point to attach the seat to.

When i had one baby she went in the middle forward facing but on the side when rearfacing due to issues with the size of the car.

When i had two kids the baby was on the side the whole time as well as the older child who was also in a car seat still.

When i had three kids the newborn capsule went on the side as its hard to get it in the car when its in the middle, but when he went forward facing he went in the middle, with the two older ones in car seats on the sides|||If there are latch restraints in the middle, the middle is safest.|||theres many different opionins on that one, the blunt of an impact on the door next to the child would be more then if the child was in the middle. BUT my fear is children dont sit in the middle cause there is no seat to stop them if they have removed their seat belt and are in an accident. I remember being a child and taking my seat belt off and we got in a small accident i was sitting on my knees when I hit the drivers seat and sank to the floor it was a pain in the butt to try and get up but if i was in the middle I think cause there would have been less to stop me from going forward i would have been hurt.

**** SIde not that have been doing research and they have found that the longer you can leave your child rear facing the better. It sounds like your moving the childs seat around. if the child is still under the hieght and weight keep them backwards. the seat that way holds them better in an impact. GL|||you might want to check with your owners manual too. With our first child we had her in the middle seat (Toyota Matrix). We went to a baby fair in our town and they had car seat inspections, they looked through the manual and it states in there not to have a car seat in the middle if possible. Just thought I would let you know.
