Should i do safety inspection while registering a used car(car already has a valid inspection) in virginia ?

I am buying an used car in Virginia. It has a valid safety inspection till Jan 2011. When i register the vehicle, should i have the car inspected again. Can i use the same safety inspection done by the previous owner for registration.|||Prior to completing car registration in VA, make sure your vehicle has passed inspection. If you are a resident of Fairfax, Arlington, Loudon, Prince William, and Stafford counties you are required to bring a copy of the emissions certificate with you to the DMV...

If you are a resident of the above counties, your vehicle must pass emissions testing during registration renewal as well.

Keep in mind that inspection stations submit the results of your vehicle inspection to the DMV electronically. Dial (800) 275-3844 to find an inspection station near you and ask about how the cost will affect your current vehicle registration fees.
