Will my car pass vehicle safety inspection?

So my car has a check engine light on right now, but there is nothing wrong with it. Will it still pass a safety inspection (without emissions tests) even though the check engine light is on? Let me know what you think.|||The check engine light is set by the on-board diagnostics.


Here, we do not currently have emissions testing.


Here, it will fail inspection if it fails the OBD II test.


If it otherwise passes the inspection, a 60 day waiver can be granted.|||you can go to an auto supply store near you and run a diagnostics test on it, it will tell you whats wrong with it. then you can take it a dealer if the test clears and have them turn the light off. :)|||I have been inspecting vehicles for over 30 years in Texas and this has nothing to do with the safety of a vehicle, so you will pass in all states...........|||Probably. The check engine light usually relates to emissions problems, not safety problems.
