Does a Compact Car Mean Compromised Safety?

I am looking for a compact car but I am worried that compact cars are a death trap. Should I be worried and are there any small cars that are very safe in an accident?|||LAW OF PHYSICS #1.........

MASS + SPEED = INERTIA.

INERTIA CANCELS OUT ANYTHING IN ITS PATH THAT IS

LESSER IN SIZE , POWER , OR DENSITY.

a chevy silverado running into a smart car is like stepping on a bug

and having to wipe the bug juice off your feet.

if you are in a smart car , or mini cooper ,or any of those other squashy cars, please get life insurance. Your relatives will thank you.|||Consumer Reports does safety testing and rates all automobiles sold in the U.S. We always check the ratings before we buy a car. My husband has had three Nissan Sentras, both because of fuel economy and crash test results. Yes, he has been in accidents in all of them, but never injured in any way.

The biggest safety measure is defensive driving. Watch out for the other drivers and road hazards, stay alert and stay off the cell phone! NO texting while driving, ever!!|||more mass doesn't equal more safety, it's all about design
