If the hazard light does not work, should a car pass a "safety inspection" ??

i have a warranty with the car dealer that states that they will fix any "safety issue" free of charge. and the hazard lights dont work and they wanna charge me to fix it. i would consider the HAZARD LIGHT a safety issue, but im not sure if it would need to work in order to pass a "Safety Inspection"

-thanks to any answerers|||If it is just the bulbs, why not try replacing it yourself. It is very easy.

But you have a point. They check all the lights in inspection (that includes the SAFETY and Emissions inspection).

Good Luck...|||WOW!

KEY WORD: "HAZARD" lights!

umm... Just let them now that when you get a flat and you are on the side of the highway and get hit because the driver in the other car could not see you because you did not have your "HAZARD" lights on. Its gona be your (the dealer)'s Fault!

Hopes this helps you out. And dont try and fix it yourself. Stand up for whats right and if you mess something up cause you dont know what you are doing...the dealer is going to say that you "voided" the warranty.

You paid for the car and warranty so use it!|||I consider it necessary to pass a safety, if you mean the emergency or 4 way flashers. Put pressure on them to fix it. It is just a small flasher unit, under the dash anyhow, not usually the switch, and it costs 10 bucks roughly.
