Putting car back on the road need safety if still registered?

I have a car sitting at home that hasnt been drivin for a year or two but is still mechanically sound. It still has plates on it but no insurance. We have not renewed the plates in these two years do I only have to renew the sticker or do I need a whole new safety and everything?|||by the way im in ontario, canada.
