Can you requester a car with a safety inspection from another sate?

I purchased a car out of state that needs to be requested with my state DMV and was wondering If I would be able to get the safety inspection done out here as well or do I have to get the inspection done back in my home state?|||Do you mean "register?" It has to be inspected in the same state that it's registered in.
