I recently saw something about new vehicles by Mercedes. They will tell you if you are falling asleep, are swerving out of your lane, and will even brake auomatically if you get to close to a car in front of you. These technologies can save a lot of lives, but they are only available on luxury cars that the majority of people cannot afford.
Is it immoral that car companies are only putting these features in luxury cars? Do you believe these features should be standard in all vehicles?|||No.
Because it is extra cost for the manufacturers.
For example: If I bought a bicycle from you, would I also expect to get a free bicycle helmet from you because it is a safety item? No I wouldn't unless I pay extra for it.|||Not really, as staying awake, being aware of what lane you're in and not following too close are the responsibility of the driver regardless of what car they're in. Driver's don't need the car to be able to do that, as they can (or should be) able to do those things themselves not to mention legally required to.
Plus, if it were an option in every car, you'd see the cars you can afford jump in price dramatically.
