I've noticed that the safety cars for Formula 1 have been all Mercedes Benz models for the past 5 years or more. Is there a reason behind that?|||I would suggest that Mercedes are paying ALOT of money to have their vehicles as safety cars, that and the fact they are so reliable, to avoid any mishap during a race. Wouldn't it be great to see a fleet of GTR's, or even a few 458's leading off the pack though. :)|||I am not sure but they will have paid alot of money for the privilege to have their car advertised every race week end.
However this is my suggestion as to why we have a mercedes.
Watch this video of Heinfeld.

Maybe because of this they now have gull wing mercs, I can't think of any other car that has this type of door.

Just for fun to prove how brilliant SC are (they are my favourite).
